Punjab Government to Remove Male Professors from Women’s Universities

Lahore: In a significant move aimed at ensuring student safety and preventing harassment, Punjab Governor Sardar Saleem Haider has announced the removal of male professors from women’s universities across the province.

The decision is part of a broader set of education reforms introduced by the Punjab government. Governor Haider also emphasized stricter regulations for exam paper preparation and evaluation to eliminate any chances of blackmail or unfair practices in the education system.

Meanwhile, Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has expanded the Honhaar Scholarship Programme, awarding Rs. 89.8 million in scholarships to 1,947 students. She reaffirmed her commitment to increasing the number of scholarships to 50,000 next year, ensuring that public funds directly benefit students in need.

As a mark of respect and encouragement, a guard of honor was also presented to outstanding students.

These measures reflect the Punjab government’s dedication to enhancing education quality, student welfare, and women’s empowerment in the province.
